Caitlin Scott did all she could to give Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Hanover-Horton , as Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity lost 5-3 in seven innings at Hanover Horton on Wednesday.
Scott racked up two RBIs on two hits for Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
#1 recorded the win for Hanover-Horton . She allowed three runs over seven innings. #1 struck out nine, walked two and gave up four hits.
Emily Bickel was charged with the loss. She lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
The bottom of the first saw Hanover-Horton take an early lead, 2-0. Hanover-Horton ‘s threat began with a single by #1. A single by #10 then moved #1 from first to third. A few plays later, #1 stole home. Hanover-Horton then tacked on more runs when scored on an RBI single by #2.
Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity tallied one run in each of the second, fourth and sixth. In the second, Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity scored on a fielder’s choice, scoring Leah Doster.
The lead stayed with Hanover-Horton after the fourth, when it scored one run on a passed ball.
Hanover-Horton scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the sixth. In the fifth, Hanover-Horton scored on a solo home run by #9.
Hanover-Horton scored on a groundout by #3.
